INPEX Research Hub for Energy Transformation (I-RHEX) conducts research and development (R&D) to accelerate energy transformation, including hydrogen, CCUS, renewable energy, and carbon recycling.

We are acting as an R&D hub of clean energy technology by collaborating with academia, industry, and consortia to implement our technologies that have improved the oil and natural gas business.

The main areas of our R&D are CO₂ sequestration, decarbonization of energy systems, and Hydrogen, Ammonia and Methanation.

CCS

We are developing technologies related to effective injection, secure storage of CO₂ into subsurface formations and its monitoring.

Decarbonization Technology

We are developing technologies to enhance low-carbon energy generation, efficient CO₂ capture, and reduction in CO₂ emissions.

Hydrogen, Ammonia and Methanation

We are developing new technologies solutions for energy transportation/storage and next-generation methanation process.
