INPEX Named to Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for First Time

INPEX has been listed on the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) for the first time. The index is part of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) family considered a leading global benchmark in corporate sustainability and socially responsible investment (SRI)*. The indices are offered cooperatively by RobecoSAM of Switzerland and S&P Dow Jones Indices of the U.S.

DJSI revises the indices annually in September through a comprehensive analysis and evaluation of economic, environmental and social practices. This year, INPEX is the only Japanese company representing the energy sector to be listed on DJSI World, which includes 316 companies of which 26 are Japanese.

As one way to further promote its CSR management, INPEX strives to enhance the information it discloses. In addition to DJSI World, INPEX was also selected for inclusion in the U.K.’s FTSE4Good Index series and the Morningstar Socially Responsible Investment Index of Japan.

*SRI refers to an investment approach that weighs environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria in addition to financial analysis to generate long-term competitive financial returns and a positive social impact.
