MSCI ESG Leaders Indexes

It is designed by Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) to support common approaches to environmental, social and governance (ESG) investing, and help institutional investors more effectively benchmark to ESG investment performance as well as manage, measure and report on ESG mandates.

MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Indexes

MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Indexes has been adopted by the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) as comprehensive indices incorporating environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors.

MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index (WIN)

MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index (WIN) is composed of companies which acquire high gender diversity scores based on data about women employment disclosed under the Act on Promotion of Women's Participation and Advancement in the Workplace. It has been adopted by the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) as thematic indices covering a broad range of factors related to gender diversity.

S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index

The S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index created by S&P Dow Jones Indices in the United States is designed to overweight companies that have high carbon efficiency within the same industry and/or disclose the amount of carbon emissions. It has been adopted by the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) as thematic indices covering a broad range of factors related to environment.

S&P Japan 500 ESG Index

The S&P Japan 500 ESG Index created by S&P Dow Jones Indices in the United States is designed to adopt both of negative screening and positive screening based on overall ESG scores.

STOXX® Global ESG Leaders Index

STOXX Global ESG Leaders Index

STOXX Ltd., a group company of Deutsche Börse selects outstanding companies from the ESG perspective based on a survey results by Sustainalytics, ESG research company.

ECPI World ESG Equity, ECPI Global Carbon Liquid, ECPI Global Developed ESG Best in Class

ECPI is an investment management advisory firm specializing in sustainable investment with offices in Luxemburg and Milan. ECPI maintains industry sector, regional, and theme-based indices composed of companies from around the world, which achieve a certain level in CSR performance standards.

CDP

CDP is a leading international non-governmental organization that seeks to achieve a systematic change in market behavior to face the challenges of climate change, water scarcity and deforestation through a global disclosure system enabling companies, cities, states and regions to measure and manage their environmental impact. CDP works with more than 800 institutional investors with US$100 trillion in assets to engage companies and public entities.

INPEX acquired a CDP Climate Change score of “A-” in 2020.

2022 Health & Productivity Stock Selection Program, Certified Health & Productivity Management Organizations 2022 (White 500)

The Health & Productivity Stock Selection Program is a program where METI and TSE jointly select listed companies engaging in health and productivity management—strategically carrying out efforts regarding their employees’ health from a management perspective—who are outstanding in their initiatives. White 500 falls under the large enterprise category of the Certified Health & Productivity Management Organization Recognition Program, which is a program where METI and the Nippon Kenko Kaigi jointly select outstanding enterprises engaging in efforts to advance health and productivity management.

Industry Mover 2021

INPEX has been recognized as an "Industry Mover" in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2021, one of the world's most comprehensive publications providing in-depth analysis on corporate sustainability. This distinction is awarded to companies within the top 15 percent of each industry and achieving strongest year on year score improvement. INPEX was selected out of 114 global companies listed in the oil & gas upstream & integrated industry category.

Excellence Award in the 24th Environment Communication Awards

work with Pride Silver 2020

INPEX Sustainability Report 2020 (the Report) was awarded the Prize for Excellence in the Environmental Reporting category at the 24th Environmental Communication Awards, presented by Japan's Ministry of the Environment and the Global Environmental Forum.
The Environmental Communication Awards aim to improve the quality of environmental disclosure while encouraging businesses to engage in environmental management and communications by recognizing outstanding environmental reports. This year, 26 companies including INPEX were awarded prizes in this category out of 147 applicants.
The awarding of the prize is attributed to the Report being highly evaluated by the panel of judges for its straightforward presentation of key environmental issues that were identified, sorted and listed in a way consistent with INPEX's management strategy. The Report was also rated highly for dedicating numerous pages to climate change, given the issue's particular influence on the oil & gas industry.

Certified Silver in the 2020 PRIDE Index

work with Pride Silver 2020

INPEX is awarded a silver certification in the 2020 PRIDE Index sponsored by “work with Pride,” a Japan-based voluntary organization promoting diversity management concerning LGBTQ acceptance at the workplace.
This is the second consecutive year that the company is awarded this certification in the PRIDE Index, which “work with Pride” established in 2016 as the first initiative in Japan to recognize companies for their support of sexual minority employees.
