TOKYO, JAPAN - INPEX CORPORATION (INPEX) hosted IPIECA Extraordinary General Meeting and Executive Committee Meeting in Tokyo on November 20 and 21. It was the first time for IPIECA to convene these meetings in Japan. IPIECA Executive Committee is the decision-making body to discuss and decide material issues of the association.

IPIECA was established in 1974 at the request of United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) to promote sustainability in oil and gas industry and has worked on the themes including climate change, environment, oil spills, corporate social responsibility. INPEX, the first Japanese company as Corporate Member, participated in IPIECA in 2013, and were selected as an Executive Committee member in 2018 by the recognition of its proactive contribution and performance in the association. At this Executive Committee Meeting, we discussed revision of Sustainability Reporting Guidance, develomentof SDGs Oil and Gas Sector Roadmap, and other various issues.

INPEX will continuously promote sustainability in oil and gas industry through exchanging the relevant information among the member companies, and sending our messages to our stakeholders.
