The INPEX Group organized a tea ceremony at the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) on November 5, 2017 in cooperation with Urasenke, one of Japan’s leading schools of the Japanese tea ceremony.

The ceremony was attended by approximately 100 executives and employees of ADNOC, INPEX’s key business counterpart in Abu Dhabi, including ADNOC CEO Sultan Al Jaber. Urasenke Tea Master Soko Shimura and members of the Urasenke Abu Dhabi Tea Ceremony School gave a tea-making (otemae) demonstration and served the guests with Japanese tea and sweets.

Two ADNOC employees currently enrolled in the Urasenke Abu Dhabi Tea Ceremony School where they practice regularly facilitated the ceremony and provided commentary on the proceedings.

Going forward, INPEX will continue contributing to the local communities in the UAE including through such cultural activities.
