The INPEX Group organized and delivered its 10th annual lecture course on remote sensing* at the Petroleum Institute in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, between January and May 2017.

While offered as a condensed course in previous years, the course this year was offered as a regular spring semester course to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the Petroleum Geosciences and Electrical Engineering departments.

The course was established in fiscal year 2007 for the purpose of applying Japanese remote sensing technology to the development of Abu Dhabi’s oil industry.

*Remote sensing is a technology used in obtaining information on the earth’s surface from a distance, typically from aircraft or satellites.
