INPEX held a fashion show featuring ikat weaving in the city of Saumlaki in eastern Indonesia on June 3, 2016 in collaboration with the local government and the Cooperative and Small Medium Enterprise Agency. The event was the first fashion show ever held in Saumlaki.
Since 2011, INPEX has implemented several social investment program to ensure a positive social contribution and build relationships with the local communities in the regions which we operate. Among the programs, INPEX has been engaged in the preservation and promotion of ikat weaving, a traditional form of cloth weaving origin to the Tanimbar Islands in the Indonesian province of Maluku.
The fashion show presented a total of 75 outfits and attracted as many as 500 visitors, including local government leaders, legislative and also religious and community leaders.
