The INPEX Group organized and delivered its annual lecture course on remote sensing at the Petroleum Institute (PI) in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, between December 20, 2015 and February 21, 2016. The course this year was open to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the Petroleum Geosciences and Electrical Engineering departments.

The course was established in 2007 for the purpose of applying Japanese remote sensing technology to the development of Abu Dhabi’s oil industry, and has consistently been rated highly as an essential component of PI’s academic curriculum.

Remote sensing is a technology used in obtaining information on the earth’s surface from a distance, typically from aircraft or satellites.
