INPEX co-hosted the International Petroleum Industry Environmental Conservation Association (IPIECA) Social Responsibility Working Group meeting in Perth, Australia in partnership with Shell, Chevron and Woodside. The meeting, which was held on October 27th - 29th, 2015 and involved Working Group member companies, addressed a broad range of topics relating to social responsibility including contributions to local communities and economies and the consideration of Indigenous peoples. INPEX presented on its stakeholder engagement and grievance management initiatives in Darwin in connection with the Ichthys LNG Project.
INPEX joined IPIECA in 2013 and has since been participating in its Social Responsibility Working Group. IPIECA is a global oil and gas industry association for environmental and social issues with a network representing over 400 oil and gas companies globally and a membership of 37 companies and 16 associations.
