Ecological Studies in Australia has been published

INPEX, operator of the Ichthys LNG Project, and its joint venture partners have published Ecological studies of the Bonaparte Archipelago and Browse Basin, a publication on studies of the terrestrial and marine environments of the Bonaparte Archipelago and the Browse Basin offshore the Kimberley region of Western Australia.

The studies are based on ecological data for an environmental impact assessment of the Bonaparte Archipelago’s Maret Islands, which were initially considered as a possible location for the Ichthys LNG Project’s onshore processing plant.

The data covers the flora, fauna, and animalia found on the Maret Islands and several nearby islands, as well as the area’s marine ecology, including whales, turtles and coral reef ecosystems.

While the Maret Islands were ultimately not selected as the location of the onshore processing plant, the Ichthys LNG Project decided to publish its results for the benefit of the broader community.
