INPEX Gives Lecture to Japanese Junior High School Students

INPEX, through its subsidiary INPEX Solutions, Ltd., gave a lecture on "the Changing World of Energy" to third grade students at Nobi Junior High School in Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture on February 19, 2021.

The lecture provided an opportunity for students to learn about oil and natural gas, which make up approximately 60 percent of Japan's energy demand, and focused on INPEX's business operations. The students viewed a short movie on INPEX's Ichthys LNG Project and were made aware of the dynamic nature of the oil and gas industry by watching footage of field operations. The lecture also included a presentation on how INPEX contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through stable energy supply and climate change response measures such as renewable energy initiatives.

The students offered positive feedback, conveying how the lecture helped build awareness on the finite nature of energy resources and the importance of conserving them as well as inspire excitement to pursue challenging careers in the industry.

INPEX will continue implementing social contribution activities including education and empowerment initiatives.
