INPEX Organizes Japanese Tea Ceremony at UAE

The INPEX Group organized a tea ceremony at the Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Petroleum Operations Ltd. (ADCO) auditorium on October 24, 2016 in cooperation with the Urasenke, a prominent school of Japanese Art of Tea Ceremony.

The ceremony was designed to introduce Japanese culture to the executives and employees of ADCO, in which INPEX acquired a participating interest in 2015. Mr. Soko Shimura, Tea Master of the Urasenke and members of the Urasenke Abu Dhabi Study Group conducted a tea-making (temae) demonstration and treated the guests with Japanese tea and sweets.

The ceremony was attended by approximately 200 people including Mr. Saif Ahmed Alghafli, the CEO of ADCO. Participants commented that it was a wonderful experience to learn about Japanese culture and that they looked forward to taking part in other such cultural events in the future.

Going forward, INPEX will continue to value exchanges with the local communities in the UAE including through such cultural introduction activities.
