INPEX Joins Keidanren's "Challenge Zero" Decarbonization Initiative

INPEX CORPORATION (INPEX) has joined "Challenge Zero," (Challenge Net Zero Carbon Innovation) an initiative led by the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren) in collaboration with the Japanese government to internationally promote innovations being pursued by companies and organizations towards the long-term goal of realizing a decarbonized society as laid out in the Paris Agreement.

INPEX seeks to transform its business into a low-carbon operation. As part of this effort, the company is promoting the development of carbon recycling technologies by participating in the development of technologies to effectively utilize CO2*1 as well as an artificial photosynthesis project*2 both overseen by Japan's New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO). Through its participation in "Challenge Zero," INPEX is committed to promoting innovation and further contributing to a net zero carbon society.

INPEX endorses the initiatives taken by the Japanese government as well as international institutions to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement.
