INPEX Scholarships Assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Students

INPEX helps high-achieving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students further their education through a scholarship program in partnership with the University of Western Australia (UWA) as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility initiatives in Australia.

Through the program, the company provides students with AU$5,000 in financial support every year over a period of three years. Two first-year UWA medical students were awarded scholarships in 2015, the year the program was inaugurated. Two more students are expected to be awarded scholarships in 2016.

A university education is the most empowering opportunity a person can receive. Providing financial assistance to students to further their education is an important way in which INPEX can help the next generation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples whom INPEX is committed to supporting through its Reconciliation Action Plan.
