INPEX

Celebrating our 10th anniversary thanks to your support

10 INPEX

President’s Message

On October 1, 2018, INPEX CORPORATION celebrated the 10th anniversary of the 2008 merger of INPEX Holdings Inc., INPEX CORPORATION and Teikoku Oil Co., Ltd. I would like to take this opportunity to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our stakeholders for their continued support and patronage.

The merger of Teikoku Oil with its strong domestic business and extensive operational experience, and the former INPEX CORPORATION, with its numerous valuable international assets, created tangible synergies and allowed us to grow significantly over the last decade into a much stronger and more competitive company.

As evidence of this growth, earlier this year in July, the Ichthys LNG Project, which we have been developing in Australia as the first ever Japanese operator of a large scale LNG project, commenced production from the wellhead. Going forward, we plan on leveraging the knowledge, experience and capabilities we have acquired through Ichthys as we make steadfast progress as operator on our next large-scale LNG project, Abadi.

In view of our mission of contributing to the creation of a brighter future for society through our efforts to develop, produce and delivery energy in a sustainable way, we at INPEX will strive to become a leading energy company playing an essential role in society by meeting the energy needs of Japan and countries around the world. For this, we look forward to your continued support and guidance.
